A documentary portrait of vendors and buyers at Hrelić, Zagreb's famous flea market near a landfill.

The scouts
Flea market next to a Zagreb landfill, vendors and shoppers philosophizing about Yugoslav passports and Central Committee cards — this is the kind of patient observational thing I actually love when I let myself. Quietly excellent.
The flea-market-beside-the-landfill premise is genuine sociological cinema in the Maysles tradition, and Nina's opening philosophical aria ('It's important to buy things you don't need') is exquisite. Thirty-four minutes is generous; the material seems to earn it.
A 33-minute Zagreb flea-market portrait whose opening quote ('it's important to buy things you don't need, because then you'll definitely need them') already locates the film's philosophy — the landfill-adjacent location gives the whole project its frame. Couldn't get past captcha to confirm the cut, but the premise has structural rigor.
