It's a desert pit stop—literally the least cinematic setup imaginable—yet Sanz makes it feel like watching someone's private dissolution in real time; the refusal to give you plot or catharsis is either radical restraint or polite tedium, and I genuinely can't decide which way I fall.
Sanz's framing of negative space and the architectural grammar of that ruined wall recalls a lineage of contemplative minimalism running through late Koreeda and early Kiarostami—the formal choice to make stillness itself the narrative is executed with uncommon patience and formal precision.
The decision to keep the camera fixed on the girl's face during the stop—letting her micro-expressions do all the storytelling while the man remains mostly off-frame—transforms what could've been a travelogue beat into something genuinely intimate and unsettling.
