Marie's blackouts make her freak out.

The scouts
A two-minute medical panic attack wrapped in thriller drag—it's almost too straightforward, which is exactly why it shouldn't work, but Certain commits so hard to the sensory chaos that you can't look away; that's either genius or expensive restraint, and I'm genuinely unsure which.
Certain's approach to the blackout sequence sits in a lineage of experimental psychodrama—think early Lynch or Tarkovsky's interior collapse—but the execution feels more fastidious than visionary; technically assured, though it risks mistaking texture for revelation.
The decision to drop the sound design into pure digital glitch and hold on Marie's face as the world pixelates around her is what sells the whole thing—two minutes becomes an eternity because of one sound choice, and that's the craft signature that matters here.
