Filip, a dreamy would-be writer in a poor neighborhood, fantasizes about fame and luxury until a knock at the door — and the arrival of his neighbor Tereza in a blue dress — disrupts his grey solitude in this puppet-animation parable on the artist's fraught relationship with the world.

A puppet-animation parable about artistic longing sounds like exactly the kind of precious festival circuit navel-gazing I'd usually dismiss—except Čadež actually uses the form to say something genuinely unsettling about desire and interruption, the way a blue dress can unmake a whole private mythology.
Čadež situates herself squarely in the lineage of Eastern European animation allegory while executing with such deliberate formal restraint—the grey palette, the puppet's glassy solitude, the precise cut to Tereza's arrival—that the parable becomes inevitable rather than imposed.
The decision to animate Filip's face as nearly blank, letting the world's incursion do all the emotional work rather than the character's expression, is the kind of small-budget choice that proves a filmmaker knows exactly what they're doing.
