The bubble-as-literal-metaphor thing is almost too on-the-nose for me, but Manzano commits so fully to the visual conceit that it loops back around—there's something genuinely weird about watching someone peel away the fabric of their own world like it's skin.
A tidy allegory executed with formal precision; the visual grammar of enclosure-and-release sits squarely in the lineage of Cocteau and Tarkovsky's more playful moments, though it lacks the ambiguity that would elevate it beyond decorative metaphor.
What makes this work is the decision to treat the bubble's texture as tactile rather than ethereal—that specific choice of material and the way Manzano frames her hands against it transforms a concept film into something genuinely felt and intimate.
