Premise-wise it's boilerplate possession horror—solitary girl, supernatural threat, jump scares—but Kaul seems aware enough of the formula to be boring, which means I'm waiting for the subversion that never quite arrives.
A competent exercise in genre mechanics with clean technical execution, though it doesn't interrogate or extend the possession-horror lineage in any way that would distinguish it from a hundred festival shorts before it.
The sound design during the final confrontation—that specific choice to strip away music and let only breath and creature vocalization carry the terror—is the kind of micro-decision that transforms a routine premise into something genuinely unsettling on a shoestring.
