Game night as crime scene — finally. I'm tired of friendships in movies that just dissolve politely; I want them to detonate over a pocketed twenty.
A piddly theft as detonator for a larger emotional explosion — Sovoda uses petty crime as cover charge for the real reveal, which is good escalation grammar. Force Majeure in a Brooklyn apartment, fair comp.
A piddly theft at game night as the detonator for a much bigger emotional explosion — the cover-charge metaphor is the structural elegance. Lives on whether the secret reveal earns the room turning combustible.
