A young woman new to a city where she knows no one skips the dating pages and decides to look for love through a buy-and-sell listing instead.

This is the kind of premise that makes you laugh out loud at its own audacity—treating a Craigslist ad like a dating profile is so willfully stupid it becomes profound, and Segura commits to the bit hard enough that it actually works as romance. Nobody else would have the guts to build a love story on capitalist absurdism, which is exactly why it had to be made.
The whimsy here is precisely calibrated, with a script that understands the lineage of romantic comedy's formal constraints and knows exactly when to subvert them; the four-minute structure moves with the economy of a Lumière short, all setup and payoff with no wasted gesture.
What makes this work is the casting choice—there's a specific quality of sincere earnestness in the lead that transforms what could've been a concept film into something genuinely touching, and that performance tonal ground is what elevates a premise that on paper could've landed as mere gimmick.
