Faced with a fresh conclusion of his own that has left mute scars, a man is haunted by a single obsessive echo: be beautiful — but at what price?

Two minutes of a guy getting psychologically demolished by his own voice—it's formally restrained enough that it almost feels like a rejection of spectacle, which I respect, but it doesn't quite land as the subversive gut-punch it's reaching for.
Chaix constructs something genuinely rigorous here: the obsessive echo as both formal device and thematic anchor, each repetition a considered erosion of the frame itself, placing this firmly in the lineage of Bresson and late-period Koreeda.
The choice to let the single haunting phrase—*be beautiful*—do almost all the work, unsupported by image-logic or narrative scaffolding, is what makes the melancholy actually stick; it's a bet on voice as pure sculptural form, and it pays.
