When a singing star comes home and removes her make-up, the gesture will say a great deal about how much the people around her truly love her.

A two-minute musical about vulnerability and makeup removal—it's exactly the kind of sincere, literalist premise that makes most people groan, and somehow Bacquenois executes it with enough restraint that I can't quite dismiss it, which annoys me in the best way.
This sits squarely in the tradition of the intimate character study, where a single gesture—the removal of makeup—becomes the film's entire argument about authenticity and love; the formal discipline required to sustain that thinness of plot across a musical structure shows real curatorial judgment.
The masterstroke here is trusting the performance itself rather than layering sentiment—there's a specific moment where the star's face shifts from public to private, and that micro-decision is what makes the surrounding affection land instead of cloy.
