Everyone's going to fixate on the 'shot entirely under moonlight' gimmick, but that's exactly why this doesn't land for me—the premise does the heavy lifting while the execution hides behind a technical parlor trick instead of interrogating what that constraint actually changes about the story.
The moonlight cinematography situates itself within a lineage of practical constraint-as-aesthetic, though the film's debt to classical horror grammar—injured refuge, dark secret, escalating dread—reads as formally competent rather than reconsidered.
The decision to shoot under only natural moonlight forces a specific visual language where contrast becomes suspense and underexposure becomes character; that single constraint discipline is what sells the tension here.
