Every day, a teenager insults his own reflection, blaming it for all his problems - but the reflection will not keep its arms crossed for long.

The scouts
A teenager weaponizing self-loathing until his reflection decides to weaponize back—this inverts the tired mirror-as-metaphor into something genuinely nasty and unpredictable. Two minutes of a kid getting what he deserves from the only person who has to listen.
Joly positions the reflection-as-antagonist within a lineage of psychological doubles (Dorian Gray, *The Student of Prague*) but strips away the moralizing; the formal restraint—two figures, one frame, escalating tension—recalls the austere discipline of Haneke or early Koreeda.
The inversion happens in a single gesture: the moment the reflection uncrosses its arms and stops being a passive echo, the entire power dynamic flips, and suddenly the self-directed cruelty becomes genuinely dangerous—one compositional choice that reframes the whole premise.
