A stray cat from the streets of Buenos Aires embarks on a long journey to the arid Patagonian desert, where instinct and new friendships lead him to the home the city never gave him.

A cat road movie sounds like Hallmark pablum, but Forlenza and Siciliano seem genuinely uninterested in sentimentality—there's something almost feral about how they let the desert win. Still, it's too pretty, too resolved; I wanted them to break it.
The journey-as-bildungsroman is familiar terrain, but the formal restraint here—letting landscape and behavior speak instead of scored emotion—positions it thoughtfully within a lineage of animal films that trust the viewer's patience.
The single decision to follow the cat's actual gait and hunting logic through 13 minutes, rather than anthropomorphize or cut to sentiment, transforms what could've been saccharine into something tactile and earned—that specificity is what makes the Patagonian arrival land.
