Drug deal gone wrong is basically the platonic ideal of a tired premise—but Fernández doesn't seem interested in subverting it, just executing it, which is exactly why this won't stick in my head.
A cleanly constructed thriller that understands the grammar of tension and pacing; the trap-within-trap structure shows formal discipline, even if it doesn't push beyond its genre boundaries in any meaningful way.
The real work here is in how Fernández isolates the two men and lets the geography of the space—and one or two reaction beats—do the suffocation; that kind of economy with stakes, where claustrophobia is built from blocking and silence rather than exposition, is what separates competent from memorable.
