Epilogue
2014 · 17m
Directed by Dylan Allen
Genres: action, comedy, satire
Tones: absurdist, contemplative, humorous
A grand action hero defeats his nemesis, retrieves the glowing orb, gets the kiss — then the movie ends and the epilogue begins, stranding him in the mundane aftermath of being heroic. The real film is about what happens when the adventure is over and you're just a guy arguing about whether to go to Florida.

The whole action movie wraps up in two minutes and then we spend the rest of the runtime in the boring part nobody films. Structural cheekiness done right.
A whole adventure film as just-the-ending is a Roy Andersson-scale formal joke; if Skillman commits, this becomes a real bit rather than just a gag.
The entire genre premise resolved in the first two minutes; the rest of the film is the epilogue text — Skillman without a mission shrinking to an everyman in hotel rooms is a structural game that depends entirely on whether the actor can hold the deflation.
