The scouts
Two guys talking about morality for 10 minutes sounds like the exact kind of worthy-but-inert festival circuit thing I'd usually skip, but Norsan's refusal to manufacture drama or sentimentality out of regret actually makes it contrarian in its own quiet way.
Fasa sits comfortably in a lineage of moral-inquiry cinema—Bresson's economy of gesture, the philosophical patience of Koreeda—and Norsan's compositional restraint and the measured rhythm of dialogue feel consciously positioned within that tradition of contemplative portraiture.
The film hinges entirely on Norsan's decision to let silence and spatial distance do the moral work that exposition usually handles, and that single commitment to negative space transforms what could be static dialogue into something genuinely alive.
