Lucía, a young woman with very clear ideas about life, battles her authoritarian family, who have forgotten what the main goal of living is.

A tender family drama about a woman's autonomy—competent, sure, but it's exactly the coming-of-age-versus-tradition story a hundred other shorts are making, and Queralt doesn't seem interested in upending the premise so much as honoring it.
Queralt locates the film in a lineage of European family portraiture—Haneke's scrutiny without cruelty, Koreeda's compositional patience—and the restraint in framing and pacing becomes its own argument about what living well actually means, which is precisely what the family has forgotten.
The singular move here is how Queralt lets silence and negative space do the emotional work instead of underlining the conflict; there's a moment of Lucía simply standing in a doorway, unbothered, that costs nothing and says everything about her refusal.
