On a remote island in the future, people train for an important mission inside a facility full of strange creatures.

The scouts
Four minutes of future-island creature-training that refuses to explain itself—no exposition dump, no mission briefing, just pure *what is happening and why do I feel dread*. Morton gets that the best sci-fi works when it makes you uncomfortable before you understand the rules.
A formally restrained piece that sits somewhere between Jodorowsky and Tarkovsky's lineage of cosmic unease, though the brevity works against the contemplative register it's reaching for—stronger as gesture than statement.
The decision to let the creatures remain inexplicable and the editing to stay patient with awkward silences is what makes this work; a lesser filmmaker would've cut faster or explained more, but Morton trusts the image to carry the weight alone.
