Finally—a horror-comedy that doesn't genuflect to either genre, just lets them strangle each other while the protagonist's parasocial compulsion becomes the actual monster. The fact that the killer is almost secondary to her performance anxiety is exactly the kind of premise that makes people uncomfortable, which means it's working.
Mullen demonstrates a sharp understanding of tonal register and the traditions of horror-comedy as self-aware commentary, though the three-minute runtime feels slightly compressed for the philosophical weight the premise could carry—one wishes for a more expansive essay on the form.
The entire film hinges on the actress's micro-expressions of panic fighting against influencer muscle-memory smile, and that single behavioral choice—the refusal to break character even as death approaches—elevates what could've been a one-note premise into something genuinely unsettling about our relationship with documentation.
