A neuroscientist studying schizophrenia hunts for grant money while an omniscient computer voice mocks him through the process. The whole thing is a VHS-warped tantrum about who gets to decide what work matters.

The title alone earns admission — anyone willing to brand a film foundfootagexx100n.s.1 has already passed the contrarian entrance exam. Grant-application despair as VHS comedy is genuinely a niche.
A VHS-warped tantrum about who gets to decide what work matters — Grayson lets an AI narrator bully an academic, Eric Andre tape-deck nihilism crossed with A Serious Man. Conceptually overloaded in a way I respect.
Lo-fi VHS aesthetic weaponized against academic funding culture, with an AI narrator as the bully — that target plus that format is a delightfully specific tantrum. The cohesion of conceit and texture is the bet.
Reviews
A strangely hysterical, VHS-inflected dark comedy... fascinating bit of lo-fi satire about striving in a possibly hopeless world.
