Directed by Michael Langan
Tones: absurdist, darkly comic, humorous
A pixilation comedy about how God created the universe after eating a particularly greasy burger, comically settling the scientific vs. religious creation debate by suggesting the world was born from divine flatulence.

The scouts
Pixilation creation myth that climaxes in divine flatulence, ran on Off The Air — three minutes, unimpeachable premise, no notes. This is what shorts are for.
Langan's pixilation approach to a creation myth is precisely the sort of technique-as-thesis short that Adult Swim's Off The Air rightly champions. Brief, controlled, and formally pure within its register.
2:36 of pixilation — manipulating live-action frame by frame is the technique people forget exists, and using it to animate a divine flatulent creation myth on Adult Swim's Off The Air is the perfect venue match. Tight, specific, and the technique IS the joke.
Reviews
