That four Supinfocom graduates could construct a coherent metaphysics of homesickness from the architecture of a house speaks to the rare conceptual ambition that the best student animation can sustain.
A house with wanderlust. Cute Supinfocom gag stretched to ten minutes — Siggraph eats this up but I've seen the same Pixar-adjacent whimsy a hundred times. Pleasant, forgettable.
Supinfocom grad film that took Best Computer Animated Short at SIGGRAPH 2014 and Cannes Cinéfondation 2014 — making the dwelling itself the protagonist reframes domesticity as trapped longing. Strong formal idea, real pedigree.
