It's a doc about a woman proving her sister's innocence after fifty years—basically the most consensus-friendly premise imaginable, and yet Ondaro and Iconic seem committed to resisting catharsis, which is almost brave enough to be interesting.
This sits in the rigorous lineage of investigative documentary—Errol Morris, Laura Poitras—where the formal restraint and temporal architecture (half a century compressed into eighteen minutes) do the moral weight work that speechifying never could.
The singular move here is probably the decision to let Petra's voice and memory carry the narrative rather than reconstruct the trial itself—a choice that costs nothing but reframing, and transforms this from courtroom procedural into something intimate and resistant to easy resolution.
