The premise reads like a thousand other shy-guy-finds-courage shorts, and honestly, that's exactly the problem — there's nothing here subversive enough to justify five minutes of my time when the setup alone tells you where it's going.
A competent coming-of-age exercise with clear emotional beats, though it doesn't seem particularly concerned with interrogating or complicating its own tradition — it settles into the form rather than interrogating it.
The real work happens in those street interactions where the filmmakers trust reaction shots and pauses over explanatory dialogue, letting Pablo's hesitation speak louder than any pep talk — that restraint is what makes a modest premise breathe.
