On paper this reads like every other divorce-aftermath salvage narrative, but López Ortiz resists the redemption arc entirely—Ricardo doesn't learn, doesn't grow, just *moves*. The refusal to sentimentalize a volatile man is genuinely uncomfortable in the best way.
A formally composed portrait of psychological fragility that sits comfortably in the lineage of European social realism; the restraint in blocking and the measured pacing recall a directorial patience we don't often see in fifteen minutes.
The sound design—how the morning's ambient noise (a shirt, footsteps, traffic) gradually overwhelms the interior quiet—is the hinge the whole film turns on; that one choice transforms what could've been static character study into something kinetic and destabilizing.
