Religious iconography as a literal prison for suffering—fine concept, but the execution leans too earnest, too symbolically legible; I wanted the surrealism to actually *disturb* the meaning, not just illustrate it.
Rozas constructs a formally precise allegory of companionship and redemption that sits comfortably in the tradition of contemporary European short cinema—the spatial grammar of the cross, the patient editing around the two figures' relationship, it's all considered and deliberate.
The decision to keep the companion figure constantly *present* in frame—never cutting away, never letting us forget the texture of their proximity—transforms what could be abstract suffering into something tactile and achingly specific.
