Pipe, a lonely old man, decides to write the story that marked his life: the days of his childhood in a small town, when he dreamed of wearing the Colombia national team shirt — barefoot, with a rag ball, and a heart full of hope, defying poverty in pursuit of his dream.

The scouts
It's a perfectly respectable coming-of-age sports story about a kid chasing soccer dreams in Colombia—which is exactly why it doesn't need me; everyone else will already love it for being exactly what it promises.
The film sits comfortably within the Latin American biographical realist tradition, with competent emotional scaffolding and the kind of melancholic restraint that reads as maturity, though it doesn't quite interrogate the form itself.
The decision to shoot through memory-fragments—letting the frame hold on a bare foot or a rag ball longer than plot demands—transforms what could be sentimental nostalgia into something genuinely tactile and specific to this particular man's recollection.
