A meteor as therapy—this is the kind of absurdist move that makes you actually believe a three-minute short can interrogate influencer narcissism without a shred of preachiness. The film commits so hard to its surreal logic that the satire lands sideways, which is exactly where it should.
Núñez Picart situates this squarely in the lineage of magical-realist grief cinema, with formal restraint that lets the fantastical device do heavy lifting; the editing discipline between present-day scrolling and past-confrontation feels considered, even austere.
The decision to trap the camera on Alex's face during the meteor sequence—letting us read his disorientation entirely through micro-expressions rather than cutting away—is what makes the supernatural inciting incident feel earned instead of gimmicky.
