Ashamed of his body, Jean hides in the swimming-pool locker room while his club trains around him.

The scouts
A two-minute chamber piece about shame that refuses the expected catharsis—Jean stays hidden, stays small, and the film respects that refusal instead of punishing him for it. Everyone else would want the triumphant pool entry; Chetelat knows better.
Formally restrained in the lineage of Koreeda and Haneke, where absence speaks louder than presence; the locker room becomes a contained theatrical space, and the sound design of bodies moving beyond the frame does the work of dialogue.
The entire short hinges on one choice: keeping Jean offscreen in the water itself, letting us only hear the club training while he hides—that single sound design decision transforms what could be maudlin into something genuinely claustrophobic and true.
