Tones: contemplative, tender
Carmeta, Mari and Pilar, three neighbours from Sucs, a small village on the Plana de Lleida, spend every afternoon on the corner bench, and the arrival of a mysterious pair of girls in the village becomes the main topic of conversation among the three friends.

The scouts
Everyone expects the mystery to *mean* something, some dark reveal about the girls, but González just lets the gossip hang there—boring, human, unresolved—and somehow that refusal to deliver is the most subversive move in the film.
The formal restraint here—three women on a bench, the village space treated as negative space—situates itself in a lineage of European observational cinema, with editing that knows exactly when to hold and when to cut, refusing spectacle for something more durable.
The choice to let the camera linger on the women's faces during their talk, catching those micro-expressions of curiosity and envy, does more storytelling work than any plot twist could; it's a small film that trusts performance and proximity over explanation.
