The premise is competent sci-fi noir but doesn't really *subvert* anything — it's the mystery-box structure everyone's been doing since Nolan. Where's the weird choice that makes this feel dangerous?
Santner understands the grammar of confined-space thriller and there's clear lineage here to the locked-room tradition, but the film doesn't add enough formal rigor or compositional thought to distinguish itself in the canon.
The real move is how the sound design — or lack thereof — builds claustrophobia in that box; there's one specific moment where the ambient silence cuts and suddenly you feel the walls. That single choice is doing the heavy lifting on a micro budget.
