The scouts
A Men in Black riff that actually does something perverse with the IP—the neuralize-the-audience conceit is exactly the kind of meta-subversive move that makes other scouts nervous and makes me pay attention.
The comedy here is competent but lacks the formal precision or tonal control that would elevate it into something worth programming; it lands somewhere between fan-film homage and sketch-comedy sketch without the rigor of either.
The whimsical-darkly-comic tonal weave wants to work, but the film doesn't commit hard enough to any single visual or editing choice that would make the premise sing—it's relying on the concept rather than the craft.
Reviews
This amusing 7-minute short is worth a watch! It's just the right amount fun using the MIB concept and gimmicks.
