Tones: contemplative, tense
A Syrian teenager living in a remote Nordic fishing village tries by phone to help his family cross into the EU, in a suspense thriller where the audience never sees where the action is actually happening.

The gimmick of never showing the action could've been a neat parlor trick, but Meby actually trusts the audience's imagination more than most thrillers trust their own cinematography—which is genuinely radical for a genre built on visual spectacle.
A formally precise exercise in negative space and audio design that recalls the theatrical constraint traditions of radio drama and Hitchcock's economy of suggestion, positioning itself deliberately within a lineage of invisible suspense.
The entire film hinges on the decision to let a teenager's phone performance—his voice, his silences, the weight of what he can't control through a screen—carry the entire emotional and narrative load, and it absolutely does.
