Monkaa is a monkey with blue fur and a pink face who consumes a crystallized meteorite, which makes Monkaa invincibly strong and too hot to handle; exploring his new superpowers, Monkaa ventures into an unexplored universe.

A monkey eats a space rock and becomes a god—this is exactly the kind of fever-dream premise that everyone else passes on and then pretends they always loved it. The film commits fully to its own absurdist logic, refusing to explain or apologize for a single surreal choice, which is why it works.
The animation carries a deliberate, almost naive formal quality that situates itself deliberately outside slick contemporary style; there's a lineage here to experimental animation and mythological adventure that the film seems aware of, though the tonal register doesn't quite sustain itself across the full runtime.
The decision to keep Monkaa's expressions and movements simple and almost puppet-like despite the cosmic chaos around him creates an anchor that lets the surrealism breathe—it's a small restraint that makes the scale of the premise feel earned rather than overwhelming.
