The scouts

Backyard pool doppelgänger horror that's clearly the seed of the actual feature later — at four minutes it's basically a teaser with extra steps. Functional dread, but no there there.

Felix

Bryce McGuire would later expand this into the 2024 studio feature, which makes the original a footnote of contemporary genre history. As a four-minute mood piece with a doppelgänger conceit it functions, though the formal economy is closer to a calling card than a finished work.

Margot

3:54 with a dedicated underwater camera operator (Boyd Hobbs) and a clean below-the-line crew — the runtime forces this to be entirely about staging the pool reveal, and the doppelgänger gag has to land in one shot. Short of the Week selection suggests the formal restraint pays.
