The scouts
A color-blind guy meets his ex in a park and suddenly sees the rainbow — it's *Amélie* meets disability drama, which means it's exactly the kind of saccharine premise everyone else would greenlight without blinking, and I'm bored already.
Nguyen situates this squarely in the romantic redemption tradition, and the formal restraint of a 2-minute runtime works against the emotional beats it's trying to land; it's competent, but it doesn't interrogate why this story needed to be told now.
The entire film hinges on the choice to withhold color until that reunion moment — a technical constraint transformed into emotional syntax — and whether that single edit justifies the premise is what makes this worth watching.
