Over images of three moored boats drifting toward and away from one another, a woman's voice meditates on a love triangle — an experimental documentary about love, attachment, and detachment.

It's a love triangle told through boats instead of bodies—which sounds like the kind of precious metaphor I'd normally hate, except Ghijzelings actually commits to the constraint and doesn't wink at the camera about it, which is almost refreshing.
A disciplined meditation that situates itself squarely in the essay-film lineage of Marker and Varda—the restraint of the visual field against the interior complexity of voice creates a formal tension that justifies the conceptual premise entirely.
The whole film hinges on the decision to keep the boats themselves almost incidental, letting the voice carry the emotional weight while the drifting becomes texture rather than metaphor—it's economical in a way that most four-minute shorts aren't.
Reviews
