A convent of nuns melted together in blissful harmony is disrupted when one of them discovers a man in the garden and starts dreaming of her own private world.

The premise sounds like a twee fairy tale until you realize it's actually about the claustrophobia of enforced collective joy and how one glimpse of desire can shatter an entire theological architecture—which is genuinely subversive, but the execution plays it a little too safe for me.
Jäälinoja situates this within a lineage of feminist cinema that interrogates religious enclosure (think Agnès Varda's territory), and the formal restraint—the way she lets the garden intrude visually rather than explain it narratively—suggests a director thinking seriously about cinematic language.
The crucial move is the decision to show the nuns as already *fused* rather than separate, which means every small gesture of individuation carries crushing weight; that choice of collective baseline is what makes the man in the garden actually dangerous instead of just quaint.
