A pickup truck overflowing with pennies and a bar full of twins — Sandy Honig commits to surreal-twin-comedy escalation in a way Napoleon Dynamite would salute. SXSW Special Jury Award suggests the absurdism lands.
Twelve minutes culminating in a bar populated entirely by twins, with real twin sisters Annabel and Sabina Meschke as the leads — that escalating absurdist logic plus genuine-twin casting is exactly the right kind of commitment to a premise. SXSW Special Jury Award confirms the deadpan lands.
Reviews
I dare you not to laugh at this insane, absurd and hilarious gem, directed by Sandy Honig.
A wacky, yet sparkling gem of a short film... [it] revels in the comedic nuances that can only come from seeing how the world sees twins and then adding as many pennies as you've ever seen in your life.
