In a claymation homage to Pingu and John Carpenter's The Thing, penguin characters face a shape-shifting horror. Their Antarctic encounter reworks the classic film in miniature.

Taking a beloved children's icon and grinding it through Carpenter's paranoia-horror machine should be insufferable, but Hardcastle swings for something genuinely unsettling—the absurdity is the point, and it lands like a punch from a claymation flipper.
A competent genre mashup that demonstrates technical control over stop-motion, though the referential premise feels more like a high-concept exercise than a considered intervention in either tradition it's sampling.
The decision to keep Pingu's childlike waddle and innocent expressions while the body horror unfolds around it creates an unbearable dissonance that cheaper animation couldn't pull off—that tonal whiplash is entirely the craft choice.
