Psychopomp
2016 · 10m · USA
Directed by Loni Paone, Cooper Vacheron
Tones: absurdist, darkly comic, melancholic
Two DIY New Age 'lightworkers' run a creative-catharsis practice out of the same apartment they share — until passive-aggressive notes about borrowed groceries start corroding the chakras. Vacheron's boyfriend gets stuck refereeing the spiritual roommate war.

The scouts
Two crystal-girlies trying to channel divinity while resenting each other for the dishes. The gag is that the spiritual ick and the roommate ick are the same ick.
Paone and Vacheron literalize a Greek conceit as New Age side-hustle; the comic register here is closer to Jordan Firstman than to Jodorowsky, which is mostly a compliment.
Homebrew hydraulic-reiki gadgetry and crystal grids sharing screen time with passive-aggressive Post-Its about the milk — the New Age-and-roommate-war collision is specific enough to feel observed, not invented.
Reviews
Not even their most inspired quackery can exempt them from the required negotiations...and the resolutely un-hallucinatory task of letting the small stuff slide.
