The scouts
A man losing dignity to a child at pickup basketball, with Aparna Nancherla and Demi Adejuyigbe along for the ride — yes, please. The alt-comedy bench here alone earns the click.
A pathetic-man comedy built around losing a pickup basketball game to a child — Nathan Fielder squirm with Joe Pera ensemble texture, plus Nancherla. Yes please.
A man stakes self-worth on beating a child at pickup basketball — failure-as-engine is exactly the squirmy register I want. Aparna Nancherla in the supporting cast adds real comic weight.
Reviews
Fiddyment's portrayal of the pathetic man is charming, and we're treated to a number of off-kilter interactions with familiar faces in alternative comedy.
