A game-show hostage scenario where the prize is your own liquidation—it's the kind of premise that makes you recoil and laugh at once, and it absolutely refuses to let you settle into comfortable satire. Gourgousse gets it: the obscenity isn't the joke, it's the mechanism.
The conceit is sharp, but the execution hinges on whether the formal rigor of the quiz-show structure can sustain the political argument beneath it; a two-minute runtime leaves little room for the considered pacing that separates biting satire from broadside.
The single decision that makes this work is the cold arithmetic of the format itself—every wrong answer triggers an automated transfer, no sentimentality, just the numbers draining away—which turns the host's neutrality into the most devastating choice in the room.
