A revenge tale with anthropomorphic navies and pirate cats should be anarchic, but Ratones Intrépidos plays it straight—which is either the joke or a missed one, and I'm genuinely unsure which.
The film's theatrical staging and whimsical tone recall a lineage of European animal fables, though at one minute it reads more as prologue than fully realized work.
The sisters compress a feature-length adventure into sixty seconds through purely visual storytelling—no dialogue, just the rhythmic editing and color palette choices that let a mouse's determined face and a single naval cap carry the entire emotional weight.
