Nightmare-bleeds-into-waking is basically Horror 101, but I'll admit the surreal grammar here—that crawl between sleep and dread—actually resists the usual jump-scare theater; it's doing something weirder with the liminal space itself.
A formally precise study in sustained unease that owes something to Polanski's claustrophobia and the psychological horror lineage, with editing that trusts silence and framing to do the heavy lifting rather than cheap jolts.
The real craft move is how they sustain that threshold feeling—the protagonist never quite anchors in certainty—through deliberate sound design and a camera that refuses to settle, making six minutes feel genuinely unsettling on a shoestring.
