A woman prepares in front of a mirror, speaking of beauty — defining and claiming it; but what we see may not be the whole truth.

The scouts
A collective of young filmmakers making a two-minute mirror meditation on beauty and truth sounds like the most obvious arthouse move possible—but if they've found the formal or conceptual trap door here, I want to know what it is.
The mirror-as-truth-test is cinema's oldest reflexive device, and a film aware enough to play with that inheritance—especially one made by a workshop collective—deserves attention for how it either honors or fractures the tradition.
Two minutes and a mirror could be nothing, but the gap between what a woman claims about beauty and what we actually see is where everything lives; the edit, the sound design, maybe a single moment of her expression breaking—that's what determines whether this soars or sinks.
