Two minutes of pure sabotage—a film that takes the redemption-through-surgery narrative everyone expects and fractures it into absurdist paralysis, watching our protagonist get trapped between competing voices of conformity. This is the kind of subversive premise that makes you laugh *and* slightly uncomfortable, which means it's working.
Dalmazzo and Robert situate themselves squarely in the tradition of body-horror satire and Buñuelian absurdism, though the execution feels slight for the weight it's trying to carry; the editing rhythm and tonal control are assured, but the film doesn't quite earn the philosophical heft it's reaching toward.
The sound design choice—that familiar voice cutting through her moment of arrival—is the entire film; it's the one decision that pivots from straightforward body-horror satire into something about how women are never allowed to simply *arrive*, and how economically that's done in two minutes is what makes this work.
