The scouts
A missing-girl story that refuses to resolve into a procedural — it stays jagged, blurry, paranoid. The form is the dread, which is the only way this genre stays interesting.
Degraded low-fi paranoia built from textural fragments — a Josephine-Decker shard-edit crossed with Skate Kitchen downtown — formally ambitious in exactly the right register.
Degraded low-fi visuals plus skate-footage inserts to construct paranoia from texture is a formally aggressive choice — building dread from fragments instead of plot. That's exactly the Decker school I admire.
