A man falls asleep into a dream where he is free as long as no gaze observes him; when a spirit turns the dream into a nightmare, he wakes to realise the spirit was his own judgement — and that by ceasing to judge himself, the complex disappears.

The self-judgment-as-spirit bit is clever enough, but it lands too neatly—the film explains its own metaphor instead of letting it breathe weird and unresolved, which is where the real subversion would've lived.

The formal architecture here is what matters: a dream nested inside a dream, collapsing inward until the dreamer becomes visible to himself, all in two minutes. That's disciplined allegorical structure descended from German Expressionism, executed with real compositional intention.

Margot

The decision to make the spirit's presence felt through *observation itself*—literal gazes that constrain the dreamer's movement—is the entire film; it's a visual grammar choice that justifies the premise and does the psychological work without exposition.
