The scouts

Secret society sci-fi should be tired genre furniture by now, but Kavanagh commits so hard to the interrogation conceit that the whole premise inverts—suddenly you're not watching a thriller, you're watching someone *become* an idea. It's perverse in the best way.

Felix

The film operates within a lineage of philosophical sci-fi interrogations (Solaris, Stalker echoes), yet maintains its own formal restraint; the editing privileges silence and held shots over exposition, a deliberate choice that recalls the measured rigor of structural cinema.

Margot

The decision to keep the cosmic substance itself abstract and off-screen—trusting performance and negative space instead of budget-killing VFX—is what makes this work; Kavanagh understands that the threat lives entirely in what the protagonist's *face* reveals about what he's guarding.

Reviews

The film packs an extraordinary amount of information into 17 minutes of screen time. Each frame is beautifully captured and stokes real curiosity even for a non-fan like me.
